  1. I haven't seen didymo in the Potomac watershed, or heard concerns about didymo nearly as much as that expressed in the uppermost Ohio/Cheat/Monongehelia watersheds. In the upper Ohio watersheds (Youghegheny and others), I often see bans on felt-bottomed waders and bleach baths at the fishermen's access areas. But this understanding that didymo is actually ever-present and ancient, but more a problem is water with less nutrients could explain much.
